"Is there an In-n-Out Burger restaurant in Palm Springs?" is a frequently asked question. Yes, there's an InNOut Burger Restaurant located about 15 minutes from Palm Springs at the intersection of Ramon Rd and I-10. From Palm Springs, take Ramon Road east to the I-10 freeway, cross the freeway, then take your first right on Varner Road. If you're not familiar with In-n-Out Burger, you're in for a real treat. It's definitely worth the drive. The burgers are fresh and tasty, the fries are hand-cut and made before your eyes, the restaurant is staffed with young high school aged kids and is a smoothly run operation with tasty, fresh burgers made to order. There's appropriately a long-standing cult-like following of In-n-Out Burger restaurants because of their nostalgic charm and terrific tasting burgers, fries and milk-shakes. Fast-food that doesn't taste fast. Excellent food. Great environment for all ages.

Islands Restaurants is great place for fun with friends in a hip and tropical "surf-shack" theme - great burgers, sandwiches, fish tacos, crispy fries. The only Palm Springs area Islands restaurant is located in the Target parking lot along Highway 111 in Palm Desert, Ca. The Islands group of restaurants was founded in 1982 with a basic philosophy: great, fresh food with friendly service in a fun atmosphere. Entrepreneur Tony DeGrazier had a vision of a restaurant that would offer a simple, original menu featuring gourmet hamburgers, specialty drinks and a fun, tropical theme. In fact, he wanted to recreate the dining experiences he had in the 1960s while stationed in Oahu with his Navy buddies.

Islands is a popular and fun place for a casual meal - more than 50 Islands Restaurants are located throughout Southern California and Arizona, and more recently in places like Summerlin, NV and Sacramento.
