WHAT’S NEARBY

The surrounding canyons and mountains are full of amazing hiking trails, while four-wheel-drive tours through the gorgeous Joshua Tree backcountry will leave you breathless. With a day to spare, take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up to the top of the mountain, just 10 miles west. Dine at one of two mouthwatering restaurants for panoramic views of the Coachella Valley, and in the winter months, you might even catch a few inches of snowfall! And if you're visiting for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Empire Polo Club is just 22 miles from your rental. Picturesque Demuth Park is a short walk from this home.

The outdoor space was great! Location very convenient. The walk-in closet in primary bedroom was a great size to put the baby’s pack and play in for a private sleeping area for him. Kids loved all the rafts and pool toys. The pool set up with umbrella in the shallow area was very kid friendly too. Comfy beds- would recommend!

The backyard makes this rental. Very well done, the pool is great for adults and small kids alike, firepit is an added bonus. Inside is all you need but not much more and is on the small side for a three bedroom. The team was great about addressing the couple of items that came up during our stay.

We had 4 adults and 2 toddlers staying at Rancho Gustavo for 4 days. Everything was as pictured, and the house is well kept and clean, with stylish mcm decor. We especially enjoyed the backyard and the pool. The pool has a spa and a shallow wading area that was perfect for our little ones to splash some water. The house is also a short driving distance to downtown PS, nearby nature, and is a few blocks away from a park/playground. Highly recommend!

Stayed for the weekend. The backyard is beautiful and spacious. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortably housed 6 adults. Unfortunately we came during the hottest weekend. When we arrived the thermostat read 95. It took about 5 hours to cool down the house to a comfortable tempature. While I realize that the host wanted to save energy, it would have been nice to have it set to 80 or started the AC a few hours before we arrived. Once the house was cooled, it stayed cool for the whole weekend. You have to check in at a front office, which wasn't ideal. They informed us the house was throughly cleaned (with extra care due to covid). We did however find several dishes that were put away that still had food on them. We used the BBQ and due to the grease trap not being cleaned, a small fire broke out. Luckily they had a fire extinguisher that we were able to use to put it out. We called the office to notify them, and the customer service was not ideal, they were not friendly. Also the pool guy came on Saturday morning without anyone notifying us.

The house was cute, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals. We loved the pool, floating mats, lounge chairs, and the seating for outdoor dining. We had a great time at Rancho Gustavo!

the home was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. they even thought of small things like family games and kitchen gadgets. best part was the backyard pool was beautiful and shaded veranda was perfect for eating outside. the area was quiet and safe. even walking distance from public park. it was close to the airport but we didnt mind the planes. my only complaint is the pool was very expensive to heat daily, seemed to be higher rate than other properties

We were blow away with so many things about this home. Location was great. Safe area, nice and suburban but also just a few minutes to big box stores and good restaurants. There’s a big park just a few blocks away that looked nice, but we were more keen on backyard fun so didn’t make it over there. The house was immaculate and had modern smart features throughout. I really liked how open the kitchen was and all appliances were new and premium. The house was decorated with furniture and pictures that were vibrant but still had a classic feel to them… kind of like the 1960s meets 2020, I loved it and want that style for my own home. We were keen on staying at a house with a pool and this one was perfect. It was portioned off into three areas: the hot tub (which has nice hot water flowing out to the rest of the pool), the swim area, and a water deck with about 6 inches of water. I had never seen that before but it was my favorite part of the pool, as you could lay on your back and be half submerged… so refreshing! This was great for star gazing (which by the way is great in Palm Springs) Also in the backyard was a nice big table where we enjoyed a few meals, and our own bocce ball court. When we needed to ask about anything the man overseeing the place picked up right away and walked us through things (like turning the heater off in the pool). I’d definitely stay here again… not really any negatives (next time we’ll bring flip flops though as the pool deck gets hot, as it does anywhere in Palm Springs) It was so much more mellow than staying in a hotel, yet this house had that upscale and clean feel that you’re after on a vacation (plus a killer pool!). -Rika (from San Diego)

Be prepared to drive 30 minutes out to a rental office, spend 30 seconds there exchanging ID for a door code, then driving 30 minutes back to the house (1 hr round trip). Otherwise this would be 5 stars.
