This mid-century modern Alexander home featuring post and beam architecture, a stunning rock fireplace, large windows, and a famed kidney-shaped pool will be just the place to kick back and relax on your next getaway to Palm Springs. In the vintage style living room, you'll find fabulous mid-century furnishings with walls of glass looking outside to the pool area. With an open floor plan, it's easy to enjoy dining and entertaining with friends and family. The fully equipped kitchen features a wolf chef's range, stainless steel appliances, track lighting, a center island with waterfall counters, and bar seating for three. The dining area sits eight for plenty of room for the whole family. Plus, the spacious backyard and pool area will provide ample space for you and your guests to catch some sun on a lounge chair by the pool (can be heated for a fee) or sneak in a nap under the palm trees in one of the two hammocks. There's a sofa/dining area for dinner with friends or gather around the gas fire pit which has seating for seven. WHAT’S NEARBY

This Palm Springs vacation home was built by the famed Alexander Construction Company and sits at the end of a quiet Cul-de-sac of the first Palm Springs mid-century modern neighborhood, known as the Racquet Club Estates. Located just two miles from downtown Palm Springs, and about five miles from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and the Palm Springs International Airport, you will easily be able to head into downtown and experience the wide array of shops and delicious restaurants such as Workshop Kitchen, Cheeky’s, Farm, Rooster and the Pig (takeout only). For a bit of fun outdoors, hiking and biking trails can be found in Mount San Jacinto State Park or Joshua Treet National Park!

THINGS TO KNOW

Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The utility deposit is $1,500 for 28 nights with $375 added for each additional week the guest stays.

This is a wonderful house to stay in especially if you’re there for a week or more. The house was very clean and well-maintained and lives up to all the photographs on the listing. The outdoor space and pool was a huge asset. The yard was very private. Vacasa was great to deal with. Very responsive and professional. We would definitely stay here again.

This home is situated away from busy streets and was well equipped. If you are up for a good walk, you can walk downtown in about 15ish minutes. You do have to pay additional to heat the pool, easy to miss while scanning so many properties. It can be a little windy, which is great when it's hot! We couldn't get the ceiling fans to work in the bedrooms, and not a lot of vanity space if you have a lot of toiletry's - not the end of the world. Home was well equipped and comfortable.

We loved how bright and clean this place was. The appliances were top end and nice midcentury modern details with warmth. Our only advice is to update the How to book in the home. There weren't updated instructions on how to use the TV>

Everyone loved this house. I want my future home to look and feel like Alexander in the Sun. The location was a quick ride away from Downtown PS and just a couple of blocks away from the closest grocery store. I`m just returning from a scorcher of a Labor Day weekend and a little getaway with a pool is just what I needed. It felt like a home but didn`t have too much stuff in it. The photos look like a more cozy feel but I think it was spacious enough for the 6 guests and then some. Plenty of beach towels, sheets, dish ware, etc. There were even pool floaties and noodles, so you can leave those at home. The only negative, and I did reach out about this -- there was a little bit of a bug problem. They were harmless and didn`t bite, but we had to be careful where we walked to avoid stepping on them! I`m sure this kind of thing happens all over Palm Springs especially during 115 degree heat, but just know you might encounter some harmless, little friends trying to escape the heat. In spite of this, I would definitely come back and book Alexander in the Sun for future trips to the desert.

We loved the house and the pool was perfect for my two young grandsons. The house was easy to be in and the location was great. We were late arriving and it was no problem, the house code was emailed to me with no problem, partly because I had sent a copy of my ID earlier. Definitely glad I did that. We would stay longer! We all loved it! My daughter lives in near the beach and I am from the East Coast so it was a perfect mini vacation for us all as it was the boys` Spring Break from school (They are 8 and 6 yrs old.). My two little grandsons really enjoyed the pool, but we also enjoyed Joshua Tree and the Tramway!

The house is perfectly designed and beautiful. There are great places for lounging inside and numerous ones outside. The lounge area by the pool was perfect for spending the day swimming and snoozing! Kitchen is great for cooking meals and set up well. If you are looking for a clean, thoughtfully designed mid century house in Palm Springs this is most certainly the place!

the house was fantastic! so nice to stay in palm springs at a house who`s owners have wonderful understated but elevated taste! great quiet location yet very quick drive or bike to the action on the north end of town. the bed was fabulous, I don`t know what brand mattress that was but I want one! linens all very good. appreciated the variety of glassware for around the pool. lots of tea lights for setting the ambiance. just loved the place and will definitely be back! thank you
