Description

Experience a wonder of Palm Springs architecture at The Aluminum House, a renovated, two-bedroom retreat that sits within sight of the San Jacinto Mountains in the wonderfully central neighborhood of Movie Colony East. Only Albert Frey, in Palm Springs, was known to have used strong, lightweight, all-aluminum frames like this one, which dates back to 1953. The living space was ahead of its time, with walls of windows that let in the sunlight, an open kitchen, and front and rear patios that allow you to relax outdoors at any time of day. The windows throughout the home were also recently renovated and reimagined by H3K design. There's a private swimming pool with great sun exposure, plentiful outdoor seating for lounging and dining, as well as a firepit where you can unwind beneath the stars each evening.

This home is located in the desirable Movie Colony East neighborhood of Palm Springs, where it's surrounded by other architectural gems and celebrity homes. You'll be a few blocks from the tennis courts at Ruth Hardy Park, and less than a mile east of Palm Canyon Drive - the main strip in downtown Palm Springs that's lined with celebrated restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, casinos, and other attractions. The Palm Springs Art Museum is just over a mile west, Palm Springs International Airport is two miles southeast, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is less than seven miles west.

Things to Know

Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The utility deposit is $1,500 for 28 nights with $375 added for each additional week the guest stays.

Super cute and comfortable home! Loved the windows that lined both side of the house for views of the pool and the patio on the other side. Nice, airy and bright. Close enough to walk to the downtown area too.

The house was perfect for 4 - bright, airy with nice mid-century touches. Kitchen was well equipped. The issue is its location on an frequently used access road to downtown…not quite the peaceful retreat we were hoping for.

Perfect spot for 2 couples. Very well equipped with everything you need. Kitchen included spices, olive oil etc. A little street noise but not so much at night. Nice little private pool. Close to downtown shops and restaurants. Would stay again. Management was very helpful and responsive as needed. ENJOY!

Everything about this house was excellent - great location, pool and amenities. The house was quiet, clean and very comfortable. Great location and beautiful views. The Aluminum House is a fantastic base camp for exploring Palm Springs and the surrounding area. It is well appointed, meticulously clean, and comfortably cozy. Cooking is a snap in a kitchen that has almost everything you need. There is even a natural gas Weber grill just outside. Highly recommend for one or two couples.

Great space in a very convenient location. Check in was seamless!!! The place was so well appointed, the kitchen allowed us to cook at home with ease, they had everything. Beds and linens were so comfortable. The pool was terrific to lounge and sun ourselves. Our pets loved the house as well. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Loved the house! It was perfect for my party of 4. Super cute/trendy. The house had many needs already (ie stocked kitchen with accessories). Would definitely recommend. Also the front desk was super nice about letting us hold our bags there on Easter Sunday.

Very cute, clean, and private. Made our Spring Break very enjoyable. The Aluminum House was cute, clean, and had all the amenities we were looking for in a vacation rental. We need to stay longer next time!! It was nice swimming in a pool that we didn`t have to share with anybody else

The house was amazing. It was exactly as shown and was in perfect condition. Of special note - the kitchen was stocked for a gourmet chef, there were plenty of towels and blankets, and everything was comfortable and clean. The process for check-in was smooth, the house was perfect and the kitchen was well stocked.
