Camp 1959 is the epitome of the Palm Springs vacation home, where lazy poolside days become lazy poolside evenings with ease! Extremely private, with the home's outdoor areas situated behind frosted glass doors with walled and hedge perimeter, guests will enjoy the properties stunning unobstructed mountain views from multiple vantage points. At heart a true 1959 Meiselman, Camp 1959 features 1,500 square feet of indoor living space. Signature Meiselman details can be seen through the home, including the clerestory windows, abundant glass facing the pool, tongue and groove ceilings, and Galley Kitchen layout. French doors open into the great room, with the dining area just to the right- the open concept floor plan makes this getaway ideal for entertaining guests. The great room features an HDTV, a gas fireplace, a sofa, and dual armchairs providing comfortable seating for reading, conversation, or TV viewing. The media system features a turntable with a collection of vinyl, as well as iPod integration to set the mood for each evening. When it is time to retire for the night, the casitas on the property will give each guest their own piece of paradise!

WHAT’S NEARBY

The best attractions and charming areas of Palm Springs will be just around the corner, as this home sits in a quiet neighborhood less than two miles from the downtown core. Meander along Palm Canyon Drive and you will find delicious restaurants, great fashion boutiques, and various museums and art galleries! When you want a bit of adventure, the trails in the area and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will both offer breathtaking views of the valley and desert landscape. A day trip to Joshua Tree National Park is always a good idea as well and sits just 35 miles from home base.

THINGS TO KNOW

Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
For stays 29-nights or more, additional discounts may be available, please contact Vacasa for more information.
The utility deposit is $1,500 for 28 nights with $375 added for each additional week the guest stays.

The house is well appointed and comfortable for 6 people. The cabanas are fun but don’t have a bathroom. Had a lovely time floating in the pool and looking at the mountains.

Overall this property did not disappoint!
PROS:
*Beautiful property (inside and outside)
*Multiple spaces to relax as a group or alone (this was major for our family group)
*Thoughtful and accessible amenities
*Quiet neighborhood
*Centrally located

CONS:
*Uncomfortable (worn) mattresses
*Unannounced visit from landscaping crew.
*There was also an unannounced visit from a member of the property management team and a handyman.

For future reference, notifying guests of all planned property visits (including landscaping) would make a world of a difference for the overall experience.

Great central location. Quiet neighborhood with several outdoor living options. Extended space with the two cabins was nice to be able to spread out. Clean but an older home that is showing a bit of wear and tear.

Really loved the property. The pool and yard are well maintained and comfortable. Loved all of the separate seating areas along with the extra details that make it so special. Location is ideal and I would love to stay here again in the future. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars is a few small improvements. There was only one wine glass in the whole place (we are wine drinkers!) and the living room TV could use an Apple TV or other streaming device. We wanted to watch shows on Netflix at night and it was tedious to set up using the Smart TV. Other than those few minor things we loved our experience at Camp 1959.

House exceeded our expectations. The inside outside flow was great along with the pool and spa. The kids stayed in the Casitas and loved that they had their own space. The house is so close to everything which just made everything so easy. We had a few issues with the pool and they were resolved quickly.

This place was definitely a cool mid century place. Pretty well equipped with cooking supplies, better than most. A couple hiccups with clogged sink, and the cleaners not showing up and pool heater not working, but it was resolved. Very cute, small but inviting with a great backyard.

This house was almost perfect for my family to celebrate my mom`s 75th birthday. The outdoor area was protected from the windy weather and it captured the sun making it beautiful to be poolside even though it was only in the high 60`s. There is plenty of space to spread out and the kitchen was set up well for cooking all of our meals. There are funky decorating touches throughout that make you smile. It is close and convenient to everything. We had some trouble with the pool and hot tub heating which required a couple of calls to the manager who did a fair job of handling. The only downside is the ordinance in Palm Springs that doesn`t allow for any outdoor music. The rental company requires you to sign a bunch of stuff about it and then they follow up with a phone call reminder about it. The constant worry of making too much noise makes me want to stay in another community next time. With that being said, we quietly had a great time at Camp 1959.

This was a classic Palm Springs Mid-century beauty! And although the kitchen was small for 8 adults on Thanksgiving Day, we made it work and had a glorious time. Everyone had their own space, both outside and in, the pool and outdoor area was perfect. Clean and comfortable, I can confidently recommend staying here!

the house is perfectly decorated and maintained. you can tell a lot of thought was put into it. the outdoor casitas/cabins were a big hit. the house is a bit tight for ten people but we were cozy and had a blast.
