This mid-century modern home has been completely restored to include all of the amenities you expect in a luxury getaway to Palm Springs. Designed in 1959 by famed Southern California architect William Krisel and built by the Alexander Construction Company, this home's soaring 'butterfly' roof is an icon of mid-century architecture. The spacious outdoor area is a private paradise with stunning, unobstructed mountain views. The pool is large enough to swim laps in, and has an eight-person integrated pool spa (both can be heated for a fee). The large pool deck has a wonderful lounging area facing the mountains, an outdoor dining table shaded by a pergola, and a commercial-grade gas grill. At night, gather around the firepit for s'mores and watch the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway ascend 8,500 feet to the peak of the San Jacinto Mountains! Inside, the spacious living/dining area is furnished with pieces by modern designers, and the fully-equipped kitchen offers plenty of room to cook, dine, and relax with family and friends. When you’re ready for sleep, all three bedrooms have ultra-comfortable, memory foam beds.

This home is located on a quiet street in Palm Springs's historic Racquet Club Estates, making it a mere mile-and-a-half from the main drag of downtown. Palm Canyon Drive is lined with delicious restaurants, fun shops, and various museums that every guest will enjoy. If hiking is on the agenda, simply head over to Tahquitz Canyon, Indian Canyon, or Mount San Jacinto State Park! Don't hesitate to check out Joshua Tree National Park as well for an amazing day trip to the unique desert landscape that can only be found here.

THINGS TO KNOW

Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The utility deposit is $1,500 for 28 nights with $375 added for each additional week the guest stays.

My friends and I stayed here for a week and it was fantastic. We loved the views of snow-covered Mount San Jacinto from the hot tub, the comfortable beds, and the well stocked kitchen. We will definitely be back!

This house was great for our group of 4. The pool was large and the in ground hot tub was lovely for those cool nights. The house had everything we needed including extra linens and a well stocked kitchen. Not noted in the listing is you will not have control of the thermostat, it is locked at 76 degrees. So I hope that is a temperature you find pleasant.

My husband and I stayed a week for our anniversary and we LOVED this house. We spent lots of time outside - the pool was sparkling clean and the view was breathtaking, especially when the sun illuminates the mountains in the morning. There was plenty of room in the pantry to store our food and we appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was – there is everything you need to cook & enjoy a relaxing dinner at home or by the pool. We have already reserved another week for 2022!

Well maintained house, but the neighborhood is a little bit run down so this house stands out as a beautiful reminder of the Mid Century era.
Things to know before you go:

Pool is great but it’s severely over chlorinated so your eyes will begin burning in the first 30 minutes. Bring Visine. Solid umbrellas and outdoor furniture.

Kitchen: Ice maker has been removed from the freezer so BYO ice. Cabinets are made of super cheap peg board and look a lot nicer in the pictures than real life. Also no space for pantry storage, every cabinet was packed full.

Beds: not sure what amazing brand these are but I would buy one if they were for sale. Amazing sleep!

Outside space is terrific. The landscape and hard scape make for the most amazing backdrop. Views of the mountains and the tram at night.

The home was supposed to be ready for check-in at 4pm, but I didn’t get into the home until 8pm, due to a faulty code for the front door electronic key…. There are notes in the home about the refrigerator working, vomit it really doesn’t! I booked 9-nights and some of the food spoiled , due to the refrigerator not cooling properly! Also, some of the towels are a little stained and dingy, along with some of the walls are heavily scuffed with marks in high traffic areas: not what I would have expected for spending $4300 for Themis home! Also, I understand the desert heat and not running the AC below 76 to prevent issues with the AC, but when guests check-out, they ask that you turn the AC completely off! This then makes it difficult for the home to cool back down for a couple of days for the next guest! When we finally got checked-in, the home was hot and took two days for the home to cool back down to 76 degrees!

It is unfortunate you did not have a better experience, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. We did discover the fridge temperature had been moved, so we have lowered it back down. All linens in the home are being replaced, and we are scrubbing the scuff marks. The property manager will discuss the air conditioning policy with the homeowner. Thank you, Jerry!

Loved this property and how well vacasa handled anything that popped up and needed attention. The bedrooms, living space, and back yard - A+. Comfortable beds & very clean. The only thing needing attention was the pool. The pump ran very little and I think I skimmed the pool 4 times a day. Leaves are falling from the privacy hedge this time of year (which is an awesome feature). However guests need access to a vacuum or the pool needs to be serviced more than Fri and Tuesday. By the second day a significant amount was on the bottom of the pool. Overall we loved it and will totally book again - the pool is what we came for so having that tended to or making the proper equipment available would be great.

This is an excellent house. The owners clearly put a lot of thought and time into making guests feel welcome into their home. We loved the furnishings (though, we`d suggest a more comfortable sofa) and the pool area. This house has three well-sized bedrooms and is in a great location, about a mile away from the local gym and Albertson`s and about a mile away in the other direction from the Uptown Design District.Loved the rug in the living room, and the beds were super comfortable. The dining table is perfect for a group dinner, and the pool area is really nice.Overall, this is a great house.

This house is unique and luxurious. All newly remodeled. The original 50s design has been preserved, inside and out, unlike many of this era. Unobstructed mountain view from new Pebble Tec pool and large spa/hot tub. Central location. Beautiful landscaping on the over-size lot. Fire Pit. BBQ. Every convenience, even built-in USB ports in the bedrooms.

location was the best. Close to everything. Floor plan was perfect for my group, giant open floor plan in common area and access to the pool where we spent most of our time. Ultra clean and modern. It was so neat and tidy from the interior to the outside landscaping. I was almost scared to mess it up!
