Description

Make yourself at home at this updated 1958 Alexander mid-century home featured in the Modernism Tour 2022! You'll be centrally located in one of Palm Springs's best-preserved mid-century neighborhoods. The 1,584-square-foot home has an open floor plan with a wall of south-facing windows lining the entire living room with views of the enclosed backyard and pool with spa (both can be heated for a fee). The living room features a sectional and chairs, a smart TV, and a gorgeous dining table. The kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, including a French-door fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, induction stove, and a breakfast bar with seating.

The home has a bonus living room off the main living area, formally the original carport. The bonus room gives you approximately 300 additional square feet of living space, making this home a ''livable'' Alexander. This space also features comfortable furniture, a smart TV, one of three desks in the home, a printer, a Wii, a PacMan stand arcade game, and many board games and puzzles for kids and adults.

Outside is all about entertainment as well. There is a saltwater pool and spa in your private, walled backyard with beautiful views of Mt. San Jacinto. There are four pool loungers, a partially covered patio with a couch and chairs for lounging by the pool, an outdoor dining table, a gas grill, and a firepit with plenty of patio chairs.

Things to Know

Between June 1-September 31, the spa is offered at $49/night, and from October 1- May 31, pool and spa heat is $99/night. Requests for pool/spa heat should be made 36 hours in advance of your arrival date in order to get the pool up to temperature during the winter months.
Outdoor music is prohibited. Music that is played indoors must not be heard outdoors. City ordinance states that any music that is audible from the property line is a violation. People noise during the day is permissible but must be measured and reasonable. Daytime is considered 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The home is very comfortable and they have provided everything you need. Well stocked kitchen, towels and linens. Only issue we had was slow internet and our phones (AT&T) did not get great reception in the area. Short drive to many great restaurants. I would stay there if I return to PS

House is great! Good layout, comfortable furnishings, and well appointed kitchen. The AC turns off when doors are opened so keeping it cool in the summer might be tough. In March we were very comfortable with the doors open. The neighborhood has a high concentration of nice mid-century houses and felt very safe. We could definitely hear planes, but we did not find the proximity to the airport obnoxious and the flight path is such that very few planes are seen. The backyard is beautiful with 3 lemon trees. We made cocktails and lemonade with the handy electric juicer. Pool is great! Nice size with a decent deep end I'd guess is 8'. Hot tub warms up fast, no need to preheat more than a few minutes. Our middle schoolers thoroughly enjoyed the pool.

This was our second visit to this home and I can't say enough about how enjoyable our vacation was. The Vacasa staff was wonderful to work with in preparing for our trip and our arrival. The home was spotless and is very well appointed with nice furniture, comfortable beds and everything you need in the kitchen. When we visit the desert it is to completely disconnect and relax, this is the perfect home for that. We spent most of our time in and around the pool and hot tub. The home is in a great location, close to the airport and in a VERY quiet neighborhood. We will absolutely be back next year!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is close to downtown and the airport (but not noisy from aircrafts). The pool and spa and perfect (do spend the additional money to have them heated). The house is well set-up for families with an open floor-plan and multiple spaces to play/watch TV. We would rent Serenity at Sunmor again.

The location of the home, the size and layout, were all prefect for our group (one couple, 2 singles). The home is cozy and comfortable, it has everything you need. If you’re looking for a home where you can just stay put, this is it. We used the pool and spa every day, cooked, worked a little, watched movies. Beautiful neighborhood, unbelievably quiet, close to everything you need and 5 min to the airport. We’ll be back!

This is the second time we stayed at this beautiful MCM house. We loved it the first time and felt more at home the second time. The size of the house and two family rooms make it easier to spread out. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals at home. The pool and backyard were beautiful and peaceful. We will be back again!

Serenity in Sunmor is a truly authentic mid-century experience. Nestled in a historic neighborhood, we thought it was really cool that this home was on the 2022 Modernism tour. Loved the way the main living area opens out to the pool area and the sliding doors for an evening breeze. The downside is that since this is an authentic mid-century home, the bathrooms are pretty tight so if you're traveling with a full house (it was just two of us), sharing the two bathrooms between the three bedrooms is going to be a bit cramped. The bonus room that was converted from the former garage is a nice addition, but the furniture isn't comfortable at all and the room stays pretty hot. Although this home was a nice experience, I think there are more modern homes available in PSP that offer more spacious accommodations for the money.

We loved the cool vibe of this house. It was decorated impeccably with a modern feeland that true Palm Springs cool factor. Pool was awesome! Only bummer was the air conditioning being set to 76 degrees at night. Way too hot to sleep almost made it unbearable.

This house was the perfect place to recharge. It truly feels like a home away from home with every decoration and detail carefully thought out. The quiet and peaceful yard is beautiful to have morning coffee and we enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. I appreciated the fast wifi and multiple work spaces as well as the ideal location which is close to restaurants, amazing hikes, and boasts incredible views from the property. I can't wait to visit again.

The quiet neighborhood and the beautifully appointed house and yard were perfect for our trip! We loved the design of the house with both privacy and views of the blue sky and palm trees indoors and out. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub, the comfortable beds, and the location within walking distance to downtown. We found everything we needed, including racks for wet towels and swimsuits, and the fruit trees were a nice surprise!
