Description

Affectionately named Tres Palmas, this 3BR/2BA house will have you doing jumping jacks for joy. The former abode of the 'the godfather of fitness,' Jack LaLanne, this classic, mid-century Palm Springs home in the El Rancho Vista Estates is personality-packed and close to all the action in Palm Springs. You'll want to do a few push-ups before your swim in our gorgeous private swimming pool! True to the classic 50's layout, this home is open, airy, spare, and elegant. The home was designed by the famous team of Wexler and Harrison, and was originally occupied by Richard Harrison himself.

The living room has a sectional and armchairs with seating for six. There's also a TV and big sliding patio doors that fill the room with sun and provide direct access to the pool and patio. The U-shaped kitchen features top-of-the-line stainless appliances, including a chef's gas stove that can handle a major cooking marathon. There's also a breakfast bar with seating for two. Check out the 'sputnik' chandelier and frosted glass furniture in the dining room -- some of many charming finds in this home reminiscent of the very swanky 50's in Palm Springs.

The primary bedroom is furnished with a king bed, blonde side tables, and 50's-style lamps. There is patio door access to the pool, making it easy to change in and out of your suit between swims. The en-suite bathroom has a marble double vanity and walk-in shower, plus a convenient back door to the patio. The second and third bedrooms both have queen beds, blonde furnishings, and sliding door access to the pool/patio. The second bathroom has a jetted tub/shower combination and skylight.

The large yard is equipped with a private pool and patio area. Make use of the grill and dine alfresco at the five-seat dining table. Recline on a hammock while supper sizzles on the grill. After dinner, take a seat at the wood-burning fire pit and roast s'mores.

There's so much to do near this Palm Springs retreat. Enjoy golfing? Try Tommy Jacob's Bel Air Greens, a nine-hole Executive Golf Course, just a 4-minute drive away. Hikers can check out the Cactus to Clouds Hike at Mt. San Jacinto Peak for spectacular views and moderate exercise. Discover seasonal vegetables and fruit, artisanal breads, and a fun time at the Farmers Market on Palm Canyon, which is a free Thursday evening event and only a 3-minute drive away!

The outdoor living area was fantastic. Our dog and toddler loved all of the space. Well stocked kitchen and linen closet. Great location close to downtown Palm Springs. The airport abutting the property was not even noticeable and not disruptive at all.

Loved the view of the mountains and airplanes from the expansive yard. It was hard to decide where to sit sometimes. I also loved the Jack LaLanne memorabilia. The house could use some fresh paint in some rooms but is well appointed and comfortable.

The yard was so pretty and had so much room for our needs. The pool was good size although we didn't use it because of the time of year, but was great to put our feet in. Lots of sitting inside and out. Decor was nice. Good location to get to downtown. Beds were comfortable. Would look forward to staying there again.

We've been to this house many times. We love the large and deep pool. Great for swimming. The yard is huge too and very nicely landscaped. Perfect for hanging out. There was an issue with the BBQ grill but Julian took care of it shortly after our call. Can't wait to stay at this place again.

Lovely home with terrific amenities. Pool and yard were beautifully designed and groomed. Pool heater worked great when it was on. This allowed us to swim for the majority of the time. The home was comfortable and pretty easy to navigate. Did have winds in the afternoon, but otherwise lovely place to stay.

I enjoyed the house and found the backyard to be heavenly. However, the property had a number of door knobs not working and the faucet in the kitchen was busted and had strange cloudy water coming out of it. ( I went and bought bottled water. the master bath sink had hot water coming out of the cold water side of the faucet and a door there didn't shut. Also most of the lights in the back yard were out so we didn't get to enjoy the yard as much as we hoped. I made vacasa aware of all. I have to say the staff was wonderful. they were all very attentive and helpful, especially David and Mike.
